Work at Home is also referred to as home based or telecommuting, homebased work or business in the internet parlance. It usually refers to work or businesses that can be done from the comfort of one’s home. This concept is good since it saves the individual from traffic, road hazards and the other hassles associated with traveling to work and going back home at the end of each day.

Among the many sites that advertise work, oDesk is my favorite for its administrators exert a lot of effort to make sure that the contractor (us) gets paid. oDesk will require the contractor to download a toolbar that he will sign on to whenever he is doing work for a client.

The toolbar records the activity and attest that the contractor is billing the client only the appropriate number of hours of work rendered for them. At the end of the day, the bill is computed.

The vital assurance that the contractor gets paid is done by requiring the client to deposit the contract amount in an escrow. Upon successful completion of the task, the funds are released to the contractors account.
